Back

Fitably, previously called Spottr, is a fitness app that helps college students find workout partners at their local gym. As part of the redesign of the original product, I provided a visual refresh, full UX research effort, and complete app flow.

Before

Spottr's brand didn't fit a college-fitness audience, the visual treatment was dated and low-contrast, and the matching flow leaned on a Tinder-style swipe pattern that felt transactional rather than community-driven.

After

Fitably focuses on a streamlined, minimalist visual language with custom illustration and logo design. It replaces swipe matching with workout events and campus-based connection and follows a complete end-to-end user flow that accounts for multiple connection entry points.

Outcome

During its initial beta testing at the University of Colorado Boulder, Fitably worked with multiple brand ambassadors to onboard nearly 1,000 new users over the course of one month with over a hundred workouts created.
